Item 1 of 3
Description
This oil painting is created in a classical realism style using comparative measurement techniques, developed through close observation of a ram cast. Rather than a direct copy, the work is an interpretation inspired by the sculptural form. While the cast appears white, the painting reveals a full spectrum of colour—subtle shifts of yellow, alizarin, blues, and greens—used to construct form and light. The aim was to translate a three-dimensional relief into a convincing two-dimensional surface. When viewed in person, the painting creates the illusion of depth and sculpture, inviting the viewer to question whether it is a carved object or a flat canvas.
